My Thoughts on Carry On

The book Carry On is one of my personal favourite books. Carry OnĀ is about an 18 year old chosen one, Simon Snow, and his worst enemy, Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch III, or just Baz for short. The both of them attend a Hogwarts-like school in England called Watford. Due to fate, or the school dormitory system, they end up sharing a dorm in their 8th and final year of school. They go on all sorts of wacky and life-threating adventures in the book. They battle a chimera, save the school from a dragon, and fight the big bad guy itself, the Insidious Humdrum. Together, the pair learn to put aside their differences and eventually fall in love.

This book is incredible in my opinion. The odd circumstances the pair are in, the challenges they face together, their wacky romance. It all comes together to form a gripping and compelling novel. The authpr of the story, Rainbow Rowell, has written a plethora of other books including Wayward Son (the sequal to Carry On), Fangirl, Eleanor & Park, and Landline. She also wrote a comic series called Runaways. Rainbow writes mainly teen romance novels, but she has many other styles under her belt. Most all of her novels have diverse casts that correctly illustrate everyday life and propose characters you might see just walking around everyday. 17\10, would reccomend. This is Lulu, signing off.
